The Gulf and eastern coast are not one marine zone
A Dubai or Abu Dhabi itinerary belongs to a different coast from a Fujairah/Sea of Oman plan. Select the NCM coast and coastal/offshore product applicable to the actual track; do not use a Gulf image for the eastern coast. The Arabian Sea link below is an onward discovery link, not proof that a UAE product covers the whole basin.
Read the marine product's units, not the city card
Retain the displayed units and the parameter definition before comparing an application with NCM. Indexed NCM marine bulletins distinguish onshore/offshore rows and may use feet for waves and knots for wind; other weather cards can use different units. Check the current original and convert explicitly. Do not assume an unlabeled wave-height range is significant wave height or a maximum individual wave.
Evaluate the open leg outside the marina
Compare conditions at the berth, harbour exit and exposed leg separately. Wind and wave direction determine which part of the intended coast or anchorage remains exposed at arrival; a sheltered urban basin cannot represent it. Include the wave period where the source supplies it and flag its absence where it does not. Coastal construction and navigation restrictions require separate official checks.
Visibility and crew conditions belong in the plan
Add the source's visibility, fog, blowing-dust and thunderstorm information where applicable. For a day trip, assess exposure and crew comfort as well as wind: a later return can change visibility, available daylight and the practicality of your alternative. This is a checklist of factors to verify, not a claim that any of these hazards is currently present or absent.
Keep water level, observations and port permission distinct
Use a route-relevant observation with an explicit time, and obtain local tide, datum and approach information where draft or a channel makes them material. A general marine wave field does not establish available entrance depth. A booking or marina permit is operational information, not an independent meteorological assessment; neither a quiet berth nor a missing sensor cancels a warning.
Weather, local notices and regional security are separate gates
Use PCFC/Dubai Maritime Authority for the Dubai itinerary and Abu Dhabi Maritime documents for that emirate's waters. Open the relevant notices rather than treating every circular as a navigation warning. For an onward Gulf/Strait of Hormuz passage, consult current official security and safety advice via IMO and the responsible authorities; check its implications with your operator and insurer.
