Weather-sensitive legs
Separate inner-bay departure from a cape passage and the chosen arrival coast. Compare the wave direction and swell period outside the bay; a short coastal itinerary still needs a return assessment.
Observations, sea state and reassessment
Confirm the exact berth/entrance and an observation representative of the exposed leg, if available. Inspect timestamp, sensor status and forecast issue separately. Missing observations or local approach/current information remain explicit gaps; this page does not certify depth, navigability or port permission.
Worked planning scenario — not a live forecast
Compare two departure times at the harbour exit, first exposed leg and arrival ETA. Record the next official check and a verified alternative before the point of commitment. If the later option is better only at the berth, it has not yet improved the passage as a whole.

A bay day and an inter-island start diverge early
State whether the plan stays in Palma Bay, continues around a cape or leaves for another island before choosing sources and start times. The inner-bay reading can inform the departure but not the later exposed section. Save the selected AEMET coast and any high-seas product with their individual valid periods. A delayed start may change the destination approach more than the bay-exit conditions.

Use Portus for the parameter it actually measures
Select a relevant available marine record through Puertos del Estado and note whether it represents wave, wind, water level or a prediction. The nearest harbour gauge is not an offshore wave buoy. Compare the observation with the model valid at the same hour and keep any missing exposed-leg measurement explicit. Port notices and marina access remain separate information, not consequences inferred from a favourable sea forecast.
